Registration Requirements

To join Green Cowry Cooperative Society, new members must meet the following requirements:

  • Registration Fee: $150 (consisting of $50 non-refundable processing fee and $100 for 50 units of cooperative shares at $2 per share).
  • Minimum Monthly Savings: $100 (members can contribute more if desired).

Investment Areas

Green Cowry Cooperative Society focuses on investing in profitable sectors, ensuring steady growth and returns for our members:

  • Real Estate Investments
  • Acquisition of Struggling but Viable Businesses
  • Growing Business Ventures: Including daycares, mechanic workshops, barbing salons, and more.

Membership Responsibilities

Monthly Savings

Every member is required to contribute a minimum of $100 monthly. There is no maximum limit, allowing members to contribute more and increase their stake.

Share Allotment

Members receive shares at $2 per unit. These shares not only provide investment income but also priority payments in the event of the society’s dissolution. Members can hold up to 5,000 shares.

  1. Fill out the Membership Form: Provide your personal details and commit to our monthly savings plan.
  2. Pay the Registration Fee: Complete your $150 payment to secure your membership and first share allotment.
  3. Start Saving: Begin your monthly savings to invest in profitable ventures and enjoy collective ownership.

Financial Governance

Green Cowry Cooperative Society operates with full transparency and accountability. We are governed by:

  • Bye-laws and Articles of Association, approved by the Government of Canada.
  • Operational Agreement, outlining terms and conditions for all members.

We also maintain a business account with Scotia Bank, where members’ contributions are pooled for investments.
