Mr. Sylvanus Ugochukwu Michael

President

Mr. Sylvanus Ugochukwu Michael is a seasoned financial professional with 18 years of diverse experience in the financial industry. He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting from the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, and an MBA from the University of Nicosia. Recently licensed as a Financial Advisor by the Insurance Council of Saskatchewan (ICS), Mr. Michael is currently with Greatway Financial Inc., where he provides tailored financial solutions to clients.

In addition to his advisory role, Mr. Michael is the founder and president of Gilt Hedge Cooperative & Multipurpose Society in Lagos, Nigeria, demonstrating his commitment to fostering community and financial empowerment. He previously served as the Managing Director and CEO of De Sylvaclean Laundry & Cleaning Services, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and leadership skills.

Currently, he also serves as the president of the newly established Green Cowry Cooperative Ltd in Canada, where he continues to leverage his expertise to drive sustainable growth and cooperative initiatives. Mr. Michael’s blend of academic credentials, extensive industry experience, and leadership roles underscores his dedication to advancing financial literacy and community development.

Mr. Yemi Abioye

General Secretary

Yemi Abioye brings a strong foundation in science, specializing in Microbiology. After his national service in Nigeria, he and his wife (then girlfriend) co-founded Green Synergy, a company dedicated to supplying laboratory equipment and designing and constructing labs in schools.

Yemi also served as an academic technologist in the Microbiology department at Kwara State University, where he contributed to enhancing the educational experience for students.

Currently, Yemi serves as the General Secretary of Green Cowry Cooperative Limited where he continues to help people which is what he enjoys doing.

Mr. Samuel Ojewole

Financial Secretary

A distinguished finance professional with over two decades of cognate experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting (B.Sc. Accounting) from the prestigious University of Lagos. A Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), Fellow Chartered Tax Practitioner (FCTI), Fellow Certified Board of Administrator of Nigeria (FCBA), and an SAP Finance Certified Consultant (SAP FICO).

His vast expertise spans numerous financial areas, from financial sector management to financial reporting and analysis, audit management, internal control, tax audit, and IT and risk management. He has led several tax services and financial solutions to clients, both private and public at local and international levels.

Samuel Ojewole served with the High Commission of Canada to Nigeria as a Finance/SAP Manager and as a Consular Officer in both Lagos and Abuja offices, respectively. As the president of the locally engaged staff, he led and registered the Maple Leaf Cooperative Society for the benefit of the locally engaged staff at the Canadian Embassy. He also worked at UBA Insurance as a financial advisor, Standard Alliance Capital Ltd, as a finance and Internal Control Officer, Alok Resources Ltd., as a pioneer head of finance and administration Sema Consulting Ltd as an SAP Finance Consultant. Lead Consultant/Tax Audit Compliance with Pencourt Consulting Ltd.

He is the founder and the managing partner of Royal King Continental Consulting Lagos, Nigeria. Providing several solutions covering a broad range of services which include financial services, audit, tax advisory, tax dispute resolution, tax incentives, and tax regulatory compliance (TAMA) to Lagos State Internal Revenue Services (LIRS) and to many organizations.

An alumnus of ABM College, Toronto campus, where he obtained a diploma in accounting and payroll administration.

Currently, he is the pioneer financial secretary for the Green Cowry Cooperative Ltd in Canada. He is married with children.
